We meet every 2
nd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the San Antonio room, September thru May. We do not meet in the summertime. All ladies of the parish are considered members of the Altar Society and are welcome to join us each month.
The purpose of the Altar Society is to unite all catholic women to religious, educational and social activities. We are called to assist the pastor in spiritual and material undertakings, and to create a community of God’s people working to answer the needs of our parish. We ensure the cleanliness and adornment of the House of God, and when possible involve ourselves in personal acts of charity. The gift of ourselves is one of the greatest gifts we can give to those in need.
The Altar and the Cross symbolizes Our Blessed Lord and the sacrifice he offered up for our sins by His suffering and dying on the cross. It is the goal of the Altar Society to follow the examples of Our Blessed Lord; of love and service to His people as we strive to meet the needs of the church and the people of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. All ladies of our parish, single or married, over the age of 18, are considered members of the Altar Society.
